Training is about raising the standards and our standards are high. Our training manifest is that before we allow ourselves to get comfortable at one level we look and work towards embracing the next.
So here at Gunns Transport we pride ourselves on the fact that all of our employees receive a whole raft of training experiences throughout their employment with us.
The vast amount of training provided is done in-house at our training centre which allows our Training Team to tailor our plethora of training experiences to the Companies requirements. This means that we can deliver a high quality user friendly training sessions to all of our employees which in-turn increases the standard and versatility of the service we can provide.
From day one the training starts with all new employees receiving an Induction Course and additional job relevant safety training. Day two for the drivers sees them partaking in our ‘Driver Knowledge Session’ which covers various types of loads and loading scenarios, abnormal loads, securing loads, load distribution and oh way too much more to list here.
Manual handling, working at heights, COSHH, fire safety, forklift, health and safety and first aid at work are just a few more examples of training provided to staff members.
We also carry out basic crane lorry operator training, to CITB standards, which is supplemented with a slinger banksman session. Ultimately the crane lorry operators all complete the CPCS Lorry Loader Operator Course, at present one of the few outside run courses. And if the addition of the slinger banksman course wasn't enough all of our crane operators are instructed in the safe use and inspection of fall arrest equipment with many of them carrying the relevant equipment on their vehicles.
Along with our lorry loader operatives we have IPAF trained operatives driving ramper vehicles, after they have received winch operation training. These employees are trained upto Demonstrator level on scissor lifts and self propelled booms.
Hey! If that isn't enough we also have fully qualified ADR drivers for those hazardous cargo loads.
I bet your thinking all we do is train the drivers well that's where you are wrong as all of our workshop technicians have just took part in an abrasive wheel training session and a VOSA vehicle inspection course. And the office staff, well they don't get away from training either with a whole array of training experiences being put before them. Even the yard team get to join in on the fun with vehicle banksman courses, forklift courses, safe loading and load distribution training.
Not even those in the training team get off scott free with different trainer courses and refresher courses being undertaken along with attending a CIEH Professional Trainer course.
Yes you've guessed it we can also provide training experiences to all. Virtually all of the above sessions can be arranged for anyone wishing to indulge themselves in the world of training and improvement.
Our aim is simple To TRAIN FOR THE FUTURE thus providing the best trained and most competent team you will find anywhere.
